1/29/2022

Meal Time Can Be A Learning Opportunity! (handout)
  • When you involve your child in setting the table, your child learns about numbers and that they can help the family.
  • When you have your child help fill water cups, they learn fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and math skills (volume, how much).
  • When you talk about the food you are eating (name, color, texture, and temperature; your child learns new words and how to describe them.
  • When you have your child help wipe off the table after eating, they learn fine motor skills and different sensory experiences (the feeling of the sponge).
  • When you have your child wash their hands before and after eating, they learn important self-care skills!

Book of the Week: Please purchase or borrow "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" to read along with us during KPL.
