EVERY DAY ACTIVITIES - GROCERY SHOPPING 1/22/22

1/22/2022

Grocery Shopping Can Be A Learning Opportunity (handout)
  • When you have your child walk in the store to help push the cart, your child learns important gross motor skills!
  • When you point out numbers and letters in the store, your child learns important math and literacy skills (recognizing numbers and letters).
  • When you have your child find a certain number of items in the store, your child learns how to problem solve, identify objects, count, and that they are an important helper.
  • When you talk to your child about what food you are going to buy or what you are going to cook, your child learns new vocabulary.
  • When you have your child help you write the grocery list, your child learns new words and writing skills.
  • When you talk about the different colors, textures, and smells of food, your child learns new words, color recognition, and about different sensory experiences.

Book of the Week: please purchase or borrow "Supermarket" to read along with us during KPL.
