EVERY DAY ACTIVITIES - GETTING DRESSED 1/15/22

1/15/2022

Getting Dressed Can Be A Learning Opportunity! (handout)
  • By talking about the color, texture, and name of the clothing, your child learns new words!
  • By counting buttons, toes, fingers, and socks your child learns numbers!
  • By describing step-by-step what they are doing as they are getting dressed, they learn sequencing (which is needed for writing and math when things need to happen step-by-step).
  • By talking about their choice of clothing for weather activities, they learn problem solving skills and planning ahead.
  • By giving your child a chance to dress themselves, they learn problem solving and fine motor skills, focus, patience, and working through frustration!
  • By giving your child some choice in what to wear, your child is learning independence, problem solving, and negotiation skills!
