Next week, Safeway is launching a Nourish Everyone campaign focused on food insecurity and new services for SNAP customers. As part of the campaign, we aim to call attention to the fact that 1 in 8 Washingtonians are food insecure, and to advocate for greater access to food in ways that are convenient, allow for choice, and preserve dignity. The campaign is designed to educate about SNAP eligibility and enrollment, outline increased services for SNAP recipients at Safeway and highlight partner voices and community SNAP events. As part of this initiative, Safeway is doubling benefits of the state’s SNAP Produce Match program, which will provide a $10 coupon for free produce to shoppers when they use their SNAP benefits to buy $10 of produce. Most significantly, Safeway is now offering online ordering, DriveUp & GoTM, and delivery to SNAP customers from any Safeway store in Washington.
