Vaccine Updates

12/1/2021

Youth ages 5 and older can receive COVID-19 vaccination now
  • The Pfizer vaccine has been authorized for emergency use for ages 5 and older
  • The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been authorized for emergency use for ages 18 and older
Vaccine clinical trials for younger children are currently in early stages and COVID-19 vaccines will not be available until study data shows that the vaccines are also safe and effective for younger children.

The FDA has authorized booster shots of Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine for anyone 18 years and older.
  • All people 18+ who completed the primary Pfizer or Moderna vaccine 2-dose series at least six months ago are eligible for a booster dose.
  • All people 18+ who received the J&J vaccine are eligible for a booster dose two months after their initial vaccination.

Vaccination is free and available regardless of insurance, citizenship, or immigration status.
There are a number of options to find vaccine appointments – check out Public Health Insider for a complete list of options in King County, visit the Getting Vaccinated page, or the links below!
